Research has been done at Auburn, Texas Tech, LSU , and Vanderbilt. Auburn studied the penetrating qualities , Texas Tech studied Emu oil used in burns. Research has found that Emu oil will actually thicken the skin.

Dr. Code presented a presentation at the AOCS meeting using Emu oil as a carrier for lidocaine. Emu oil was found to improve the time for lidocaine to penetrate by 3 times faster.

University Of Mass. of Lovell is in the process of studying emu oil in Three different studies: Lowering Cholesterol, Anti-inflammatory and Trans-dermal. The pilot studies were presented at the May 2001 AOCS convention.

A customer of ours has a horse named Trill which  got into some barb wire fence. The vet thought it would be best to put the horse down. This was not an option, so they started looking into alternative medicines.  So they used Emu oil in a concoction they had made. Click here for Pictures
